Christian Women's 6 Ways to Keep Friendships in Shape
By Eva Thompson
The building and keeping of friendships is hard and holy work. Here are six tips to help keep your friendships in shape.
Pray for your friends daily. Thank God for your friends by name.
Show your friends you love them and that they are special to you and to God. Write notes of encouragement. Email is great for quickie, surprise notes. Share a lunch hour or take a walk; be creative. Make time for each friend.
3. HANDLE CAREFULLY.
Don’t spread gossip. Ask yourself if what you are saying is encouraging and truthful. Don’t accept gossip from others.
Take time to listen to your friend when she talks to you. Give her your full attention.
5. SCRUB CLEAN.
When you grieve a friend, go immediately and ask her for forgiveness. If your friend is in the wrong, don’t hold it against her. Forgive her.
6. KNOW THE REPAIRMAN.
Continue developing a love relationship with Jesus Christ. You will discover more joy in your relationships and will be prepared to handle problems when they arise.
