Amen! and Amen!

Thank you so much for this, Joni! My aunt is suffering from some sort of dementia, though, it has not been formally diagnosed yet. It just began to be a difficulty in the past 6-8 months. Already though, I notice people are inclined to talk over the top of her head (she's very tiny) to ask me about her. It's distressing. While it's true that she might not notice, she does frequently understand. I appreciate those who kindly take the time to address her directly. She may defer the question to me, but it at least gives her the dignity and respect deserved by one who is made in the image of God. It's not even about honoring her necessarily (although, it certainly does do so). It's about honoring our Creator and recognizing that His work and His plan in and for this person is good just as He is good!

"Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You and worked for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the children of mankind!" (Psalm 31:19)

You are a blessing, Joni! I thank God for you and the courage He has given you to take refuge in Him in the sight of all mankind! By it, you have strengthened us!
