Christian Women's Magazine | Dealing with Doubt

JBU Fall Cover 2017

WELCOME FROM THE EDITOR...

Thank you for being part of the Just Between Us family! It means so much that you take time every quarter to sit down with us as you read through the pages of the magazine, letting God’s Spirit wash His words of encouragement, hope, and peace over your life just where you need it most! With every issue we put together, we try to envision your faces—imagining that we’re actually sitting down with you over a good cup of coffee or tea and sharing our hearts friend to friend. We want you to know that we’re here to encourage you in whatever season you’re going through and whatever doubts you face. By the time you read the last word and drink your last drop, it’s our prayer that you come away filled up with refreshment for your soul.

One of the things I love about living in the Midwest is the changing seasons. Wisconsin falls are ushered in with beautiful splashes of color—deep rich reds, yellows, and oranges of every hue. It’s a feast for the eyes. I pray that this issue is a feast for your eyes and soul as well. I hope the beauty in its pages cover to cover will pamper and refresh you in the deepest parts. Isn’t it comforting to know that in our ever-changing lives and world, there is one constant: our unchanging God—our companion and friend? Hebrews 13:8 tells us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

We’re excited about this issue. And we’ve made a few changes in the magazine that we hope will add to your reading enjoyment.

First up…Elizabeth Murphy is retiring her “Between the Pages” column for now. We have  appreciated the refreshing way she reviewed books and the inspiration she gave us to read each one. We’re excited to introduce her new column, “It is Well” (on page 42). With so many difficult things going on in our lives and around us, her insight is going to help us change our focus to what is well—on what there is to celebrate. She’ll tackle different topics every issue. This first one is prayer. I hope you love it as much as I do—it’s sure to change your perspective!

Next, we’ve also done some rearranging and made the pages cleaner and easier to read. We hope you like the results.

My prayer is the content in these pages will remind you that you are not alone in this journey of faith—that you have Christian sisters around the world who are cheering you on and walking with you as they share their hearts and faith with you. And I hope you will take some time to reflect on the ways God surrounds your life with beauty.

So curl up in your favorite chair and get your favorite drink and dive into this issue. I’m excited for the changes God’s going to bring into your life as you step aside from the noise and let Him splash His colors of encouragement and hope on your heart.

Until next time,

Shelly Esser
