The Holy Spirit’s empowering of you happened when you put your faith in Christ. You were likely not aware of the moment you were “born again.” At the time, most of us have no idea that there is even a term for such a moment! But there is (John 3:3-7). And from that time the Spirit has been with you, enabling you to live a godly and powerful life.
In fact, when we become God's children, the Holy Spirit enters our hearts and begins to grow His “fruit,” in us - one of which is love, agape love (Gal. 5:22). The Holy Spirit within us enables us to love God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength, and to love our neighbor as much as we love our selfish selves. God does not tell us to do anything that He does not empower us to do! He Himself is the enabling of all of His commands.
