Living Wildly for Jesus

Each moment within a day is a choice. A choice to be WILD or not.  My journey started out being wild – living a life for myself and my own selfish desires, and in doing so, creating a whirlwind mess like the destructive power of a tornado spinning out of control.

And then 15 years ago, I sought Jesus for forgiveness and His free gift of salvation after living a life filled with fear, guilt, shame, and anger.  Little did I know then, but that marked the time when the WILD life would actually begin!  You see, what I have learned is that a life lived WILDly for Jesus is the only way to truly live!  

It has been a journey of learning life-transforming truths, receiving deep healing to my broken heart and soul, and gaining freedom to move forward with the love, mercy, grace, encouragement, and confidence found only in Jesus.  Trusting God and His Word, and truly believing its restorative power was foundational to this journey.  I learned to allow Him to take control as I held His Hand and He directed my steps to where He wanted me to go. 

The WILD life?  Well, let me show you how it starts…

W – Willingly Surrender to Jesus Christ

To do this, I needed to recognize my sinful condition – “For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23), and

To acknowledge who God is and what He sent His Son Jesus to do for me, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (Jn.  3:16).

I – Intentionally Choose Jesus

And then God promised, “that if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Rom. 10:9). Saved from separation from God and to be joined with Him in Heaven for eternity!

And as Jesus says in Lk. 9:23-24, “If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.  For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will save it.”

L – Love Jesus More than Anything the World can Offer

“If you love me, you will obey what I command” (Jn. 14:15).  As He speaks to my heart about one of His truths, I can choose to obey.  By my obedience, I show that I love Him. 

D – Dance with Jesus 

Dance with Him as He take you through a journey of trusting Him with the plans He has for you. 

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jer. 29:11).  

And then after that?  

Well, the WILD life continues.  Because the WILD life becomes a moment-by-moment, circumstance-by-circumstance, decision-by-decision choice to live for Jesus – the WILD way – His Way – today and every day!  

• To (W) willingly surrender to Him whatever “it” is that you need to let go of
• To (I) intentionally choose Him at the present moment 
• To (L) love Him more than anything else, and
• To (D) dance with Him as He takes you on your own journey with Him

By the way...On February 14, 2004, God gave me the legal title of being a Wild woman because that is the day I married my husband and took his Wild last name. I’m certain God blessed me with my husband and this last name, so I am reminded each day of choosing to be a WILD Woman for Jesus!
