Jesus Our Eternal GPS

Jesus is our eternal GPS. No one who knows Christ ever gets lost for He is the way!

“Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me“ (John 14:5-6).

“Nobody ever gets lost,” Stuart assured me.   I was about to set off on a complicated journey and was trying to figure out the airplane schedule.  How would I know which plane to get when I arrived at the large airport?  I’d been to that particular terminal once before and remembered the disembodied voices talking to me from through the loudspeaker!  No people, just voices – it was eerie!  I had found myself asking the unseen airport voice a question – but received nothing but the taped staccato warning to step away from the doors!

“Have you ever heard of anyone who didn’t eventually arrive at his destination?” Stuart continued patiently.  “Well, no.”  I had to admit I hadn’t.  Delayed, perhaps, bumped a time or two, even hijacked – but apart from crashing, people always got there in the end!

Jesus said that He was “the way.”  I can hear His voice, just like the voices in the airport, saying, “This is the way; walk you in it.”

But the difference between airports and the Christian life is considerable.  The unseen voice of Jesus will talk back to me if I am confused, and even though He may allow me to be delayed or re-routed a time or two, He promises to get me to my final destination.  Even if I crash, I will just get where I am going a whole lot sooner – that’s all.

Nobody who knows Christ ever gets lost – He is the way!
