Trusting God in All Things

Trust comes with knowing God, and leaning hard, when hard things come. Draw near to God today - you can trust Him in all things.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him" (Psalm 28:7).

I had a burden; I had a beautiful daughter who was really excited about taking on life with all it had to offer! The dating had begun, and I was frightened. She told me not to be afraid.  “I’m not afraid, Mom,” she said cheerfully. “That’s why I am,” I replied grimly.  What do you do when your daughter refuses to allow you to go along on her dates?  I discovered one thing I could do was to pray. Another thing I could do was to trust. I asked Jesus to tell the Father, “Someone I love needs shielding.” He did, of course. The Father told Jesus to tell me He’d look after it for me; Jesus told me.

The next day I was driving along the highway in my car, and I asked Jesus to remind the Father about my burden. He told me the Father would like to remind me He didn’t need reminding. I was the one who needed that!

The following day, when I knelt in prayer, I told Jesus to tell the Father I loved Him. The Father, through Jesus, thanked me and told me He would like to hear me say something else. He would like to hear me say, “And I trust You, too!” Trust comes with knowing God, and leaning hard, when hard things come.  Trust comes with experiencing His presence, taking the risk, and meeting Him in the dark.
