Karen Rice worked for Memorial Hermann Hospital for 27 years until she became ill with cancer not once, but twice. Now she spends most of her time writing inspirational stories to share with others, as well as attending college at the age of 64, to earn a degree. Her free time is spent in cherished moments with her grandkids—moments she felt she came so close to losing.
